What sets us apart

We’re not only committed to your oral health, but to your systemic health as well.

There is clear evidence to support that one’s oral health is directly tied to whole-body health. Known as the “oral-systemic” link, bacteria that colonize gum tissues in the mouth have been implicated in more than 57 diseases, including cardiovascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, kidney and pancreatic cancers, low birth weight and diabetes. When we diagnose periodontal disease, we go a step further and order a full microbial analysis to determine which bacteria are more prevalent in your mouth. Based on this information, we can more accurately target the cause of your periodontal disease and implement protocols to eliminate these pathogens.

consistently clear communication

We pride ourselves in educating our patients so that they completely understand our diagnostic findings and are fully aware of treatment options and recommendations. From your initial visit through treatment recommended - including routine periodontal maintenance visits - we make a concerted effort to ensure that you know what it is that we’re doing, why we’re doing it and what to expect after it’s done. We’re also transparent about insurance reimbursement, costs involved and if additions and/or deletions are incurred to your specific treatment plan.

we don’t let insurance dictate treatment

In the 1960’s, the average maximum insurance coverage per individual per year was $1000. Do you know what the average maximum insurance coverage is per individual in 2021? It’s $1000. So in over 60 years while costs have steadily increased, the “benefits” for dental care have not changed. Meanwhile, CEO’s of dental insurance companies typically earn over $15M in bonuses year over year.

We don’t work for your insurance company - we work for you. We prioritize treatment based on need and not what your dental insurance company states what is and is not acceptable for your oral health. The 6 month cleaning was actually implemented by dental insurance companies because they would only cover a cleaning once every 6 months. Depending on your oral health and the presence of certain bacteria, you might actually require a professional cleaning once every 3 or 4 months. While this isn’t typical, it is something we will discuss should we feel it is necessary so as to optimize your overall oral and systemic health.
